Weddings
A wedding is a beautiful occasion, and we are delighted that you are considering celebrating your marriage with us. Marriage is a lifelong commitment made before God, and we want to help you not only prepare for your wedding day but also build a strong, enduring marriage centered on Christ.
At St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, we place deep value on a rich heritage of faith that connects us to generations of believers. This is why our weddings use the traditional Anglican marriage service—a beautiful, reverent liturgy that has been used by millions of people throughout history.
At the heart of this service are the traditional Anglican marriage vows. These deep, solemn promises have carried couples through centuries of changing times, holding fast through every season of life. When you repeat these time-tested words, you are not just making a private agreement; you are stepping into a profound historical tradition. By anchoring your marriage in this classic service and these historic promises, you join countless others who have pledged their lifelong love and faithfulness before God and His people.
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
Ephesians 5:31-32
FAQs
Can we write our own vows?
1
No. We are only authorised to use the vows within the traditional Anglican marriage service.
What is required to prepare for marriage at the Cathedral?
2
Because we care deeply about the health of your future marriage, we require all couples to complete a four-week marriage preparation course. This preparation includes a focus on looking at the Christian view of marriage as it is presented in the Bible. It also incorporates PREPARE/ENRICH, a globally recognized relationship tool that helps couples identify their strengths, navigate growth areas, and build strong communication habits before the big day.

Fees can vary depending on your specific requirements (such as organists, vergers, or specific cathedral spaces). Please contact the Cathedral office for our most up-to-date fees and pricing schedule.
