Your church.

St Paul’s is the Mother Church of the Anglican Diocese of Rockhampton in Central Queensland. The Cathedral is a sandstone building which was re-roofed in 2016. The large front stained-glass Rose Window was restored in 2016. All the windows in the Cathedral are stained glass.

The Bell Tower

At the rear of the Cathedral is the bell tower, which has recently been re-roofed and painted. It is in the process of having the bell mechanism restored.

The Pipe Organ

The present organ was built in 1965 by J W Walker & Sons Ltd (London) and installed in the Cathedral in 1966. The organ case is on a raised platform beneath the Rose Window at the West end of the Cathedral with the console at a lower level. The organ is in very good condition and is serviced on a regular basis by a Brisbane based organ builder. Repair and maintenance costs are paid out of our ongoing organ restoration fund.
